18-year-old pro golfer dies at qualifying event from brain hemorrhage

Jessica Bang, an 18-year-old pro golfer from Australia, died from a brain hemorrhage.
She was in Thailand competing in a qualifying event when the incident occurred. The WPGA Tour of Australasia confirmed her death.
“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the WPGA Tour of Australasia and the broader Australian golf community are with Jessica’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved her at this incredibly difficult time,” the tour said in a statement.

She collapsed Aug. 1 and was taken to a Bangkok hospital where surgeons performed brain surgery. She spent several days in intensive care on life support with her family close before passing away.
Bang won her first professional tournament earlier this year in just her fifth start.
