Guy Fieri is celebrating a major milestone for his oldest son, Hunter Fieri, who turned 30 on Aug. 13.

The Food Network star marked the occasion with a carousel of family photos shared on Instagram on Thursday, featuring snapshots of Hunter with his loved ones, including his wife, as well as several photos of him from when he was younger.

“Happy 30th birthday to my best friend/son HUNTER,” Guy wrote in the caption.

“WTH!! Where did 30 years go?! It’s been an amazing adventure with you Hunter. From your long delivery, to the first year of not sleeping well, to all of a sudden you turned into this amazing little kid that always sought adventure,” he continued.

“You gave your mom and I the greatest life lessons and experiences,” Guy added. “You are such a kind, respectful and genuine person
we couldn’t be more proud of you.”

“You’ve done an amazing job getting to 30 and we look forward to what comes next,” he wrote. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY Love you, Dad.”

Hunter was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Guy and Lori Fieri, who have been married since 1995. He is the older of their two sons, alongside younger brother Ryder.

He has previously opened up about how his own upbringing shaped the way he raised his children.

“My parents never put a boundary in front of me saying, ‘You can’t do that,’” Guy told PEOPLE in May 2019. “I’ve always lived in the realm of ‘You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.’“

Hunter has similarly spoken about the advice his father gave him as he built a career of his own.

“He always told me, ‘You can’t be just Guy Fieri’s son. If you really want to take over this world, you got to be Hunter Fieri,’ and that’s just what I think about,” Hunter told PEOPLE in January 2022.

Hunter has followed his father into the culinary world, graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and appearing on several of Guy’s television shows, including Guy’s Grocery Games and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

Guy has previously said he hopes Hunter will eventually take over Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

“He’s a great teacher,” Hunter previously told PEOPLE, adding of the show, “When the time comes, I will be ready to roll.”

Guy has also emphasized that he wanted Hunter to establish his own path before returning to the family business.

“I wanted him to get a couple years of his own feeling and flavor and message,” Guy told Delish. “When that gets done, we’ll all know when it’s time for him to come back to the family program. It’s gonna happen, I don’t have any question. Matter of fact, I look forward to it. I’m almost wanting to cheat the system and bring him back early, but I know what’s going to be best for him.”

In 2021, Hunter took on a project of his own with What Plants Can Do, a 12-minute documentary that followed his trip to North Dakota to explore how ZENB produces its yellow pea pasta.

“I was very nervous,” Hunter told PEOPLE of making the documentary. “I didn’t know what to look for. I didn’t know what to do in the sense of how do I watch over myself while also playing the role of the star of the documentary? But I just took what I learned from my dad and from his manager and from all the friends and mentors that’ve helped me along the way. And I just remembered what I was taught and I put everything I had forward.”

Hunter’s personal life has also entered a new chapter in recent years. He proposed to professional pickleball player Tara Bernstein at the Fieri family’s Thanksgiving celebration in November 2023, before the couple married in August 2025.
