Hayley Kiyoko shares where she's at in the wedding planning process with fiancée Becca Tilley

The director and pop star also reveals why it's been so powerful to be releasing her film Girls Like Girls as she's "found the love of my life"

Kiyoko and Tilley announced their engagement in July 2025 after seven years of dating

Hayley Kiyoko is opening up about where she and fiancée Becca Tilley are when it comes to wedding planning.

According to the Girls Like Girls director and co-writer, it's in the very early stages for them.

"We haven't started wedding planning," Kiyoko, 35, tells PEOPLE.

The "Curious" singer says she and The Bachelor alum, 37, have been focused on the release of Kiyoko's film, which was released on Friday, June 19.

"We've been deep in the Girls Like Girls universe," Kiyoko admits. "But I think it's been really cool because this film captured this trauma of not feeling enough and not feeling worthy, so to be releasing this film during a time where I found the love of my life and I do feel worthy and loved is a really cool thing to get to share with my person — and to get to celebrate how far I've come in my self-love journey as well."

Kiyoko's film Girls Like Girls follows new girl in town Coley (Maya da Costa) as she experiences romance for the first time and goes on a journey of self-acceptance.

In July 2025, Kiyoko and Tilley announced their engagement on Instagram alongside several photos from the surprise proposal.

They confirmed their relationship at the release party for Kiyoko's single "For the Girls" in May 2022, but had already been dating for four years.

The couple met at Kiyoko's album release party for Expectations in April 2018.

Tilley revealed she was "not prepared for the amount of love and support" she and Kiyoko got after going public with their relationship during a May 2022 episode of her Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad podcast.

"Like, I just could have never predicted," the podcast host said.

In a May 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Kiyoko praised Tilley as "such a supportive partner."

"I'm so grateful for her love, and she's my soulmate. It's been really great to get to share our love with everyone. She's the best," she said at the time.
