Jalen Hurts is out for the Eagles game against the Panthers after being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot.

The shorthanded Eagles just lost another player.

And it's a big one.

Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss this week's game against the Carolina Panthers. He was ruled out Thursday with a "superficial blood clot."

Hurts has struggled this year, as have the Eagles, who are 2-3 after a heartbreaking loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Eagles played without Saquon Barkley, who was hurt. The team also dealt with the retirement of offensive tackle Lane Johnson. Philadelpha traded Cam Jurgens, also a starter on the offensive line, last week the day after Johnson retired.

Tanner McKee will start for the Eagles, who cut Andy Dalton last week.
