Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reuniting with some old friends.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Nottingham, England, on Thursday, Oct. 15, for a series of charity outings, including a visit to Himmah Hub, a food poverty community action group.
There, Meghan reunited with some of the women she supported at the Hubb Community Kitchen, a group that came together to prepare food for their community after being displaced following the devastating Grenfell Tower fire in 2017. One of Meghan’s first projects as a member of the British royal family was to collaborate with the women on a charity cookbook, for which she wrote the foreword.
The duchess embraced each of the women in the kitchen before wrapping them up in a group hug, exclaiming “It’s been too long!”

Meghan also held a lunch at Kensington Palace to celebrate her cookbook publication in September 2018. The Duchess of Sussex was supported at the event by her husband and her mother, Doria Ragland, and gave her first public speech as a working royal.
The cookbook raised more than $1 million to support the kitchen, training and community projects led by the women. However, the Hubb Community Kitchen shut down earlier this year. (PEOPLE understands that the kitchen was always intended to be a temporary hub to support Grenfell survivors who were living in accommodation without cooking facilities. The project wound down because its purpose had been fulfilled: those families have since been rehoused in permanent accommodation with kitchens.)
In 2021, Meghan donated $13,000 from the cookbook’s proceeds to Himmah, and Harry subsequently contributed another $13,000 to the organization, which served more than 15,000 meals, according to its 2024-2025 impact report.
During the visit, four cookbook contributors and longstanding Hubb volunteer Charlotte Wall prepared lunch alongside Himmah’s chefs and volunteers for around 50 guests.

Prince Harry met representatives whose expertise and networks could support the Violence Impacting Young People (VIYP) initiative.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also visited Himmah’s foodbank, which distributed 11,961 food parcels during 2024-2025, supporting 1,188 families and 2,463 people. They will meet the team, learn how parcels reach local households and help prepare food packages.
For Thursday’s outing, Meghan opted for all British designers, wearing a coat, turtleneck and earrings by luxury fashion brand Joseph. She teamed the outfit with a The Fold London skirt, and completed the look with a pair of Jennifer Chamandi shoes.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s day in Nottingham will also include stops at The Community Recording Studio (CRS), a charity established in 1991 to give young people access to music and recording facilities, and Epic Partners, an organization that supports children and families through youth work, sport, mentoring and education.
Nottingham is a special place for Prince Harry and Meghan, as it is where they made their first joint outing just days after they publicly announced their engagement in November 2017.

Nearly two months after moving back to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are shifting their focus back to their work, a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE.
“After they first arrived in England, their focus was on establishing a routine and getting the kids settled into school,” the source says. “Now, they’re both excited to focus more on their work and the projects that matter to them.”
