Renault seeks to cut 800 jobs in engineering in France

PARIS, June 24 (Reuters) - Renault is considering ‌cutting 800 jobs ‌in its engineering department ​in France by the end of 2027, the company's human ‌resources chief ⁠for the country said on ⁠Wednesday.

The company expects to reduce its ​payroll, which ​totals ​5,500 staff, ‌through voluntary redundancies, Maximilien Fleury told reporters.

The job cuts are in line with the ‌company's efforts ​to be ​better ​able to ‌compete with Chinese ​competition, ​Chief Technology Officer Philippe Brunet added.
